Set in the Knysna Forest, this is an evening walk starting at dusk, which follows the paths of some of the mystical forest Leopards collared with GPS trackers. The walk starts off with an introduction to the research conducted by Landmark Foundation students in the Outeniqua forests, before entering the forest shrouded in nocturnal sounds. While the chances of seeing a leopard are extremely slim, we will be looking for spoor and signs of the leopards. Territorial scratch marks on trees and faecal scat will give and indication of their movements and secret life. While walking, the forest ecology will be interpreted and an UV light will be used to find the multi legged creatures crawling over the forest floor. Before finishing the walk a trap camera will be reviewed to see what animals have passed by in the past 48 hours. A walk through the Knysna Forest will linger in the memory, like the grandeur of a leopard in a woodland clearing. If you're based in South Africa it's worth a car journey, if not you won't regret booking your airline tickets. A proportion of the proceeds for the tour will be donated to the Landmark Foundation.
